Tuition is available for children on a subscription only membership scheme, with two lessons a week for beginners costing only £87 per month. Experienced children can ride four times/week for £174pcm. Adult lessons are offered on a private basis only; half hour lessons for beginners cost £25, whilst forty-five minutes for experienced riders costs £35. Riding and Road Safety courses and exams are run in house, and we are always training students for BHS exams, from junior PRT1 to BHS stage III. Accompanied hacking around the beautiful countryside is also available, either privately or with a friend.
Cathy Glen BHSII travels around Essex to help riders of all ages and abilities with their own horses and ponies. Currently this is offered on Mondays and on Saturday afternoons, but please call to discuss your requirements. If you can bring your horse to us at Roxwell any day is possible!
Client & Member Testimonials
"After riding with Pied Horse for a year I was in Wales and rode at a riding school there. It was commented on as to how well I was taught." Jamie Entwistle, Member , 1.03.2008
"After riding for ten years and having lost all confidence I changed riding schools to Pied Horse. On my first lesson I was crying and being led but within 15 minutes I trusted Cathy and her horses completely. Six months on I have entered my first dressage competition at Norton Heath and came 7th out of approximately 30 riders. I have never been more confident on or around horses and I owe it all to Cathy and Pied Horse."

"When I started learning to ride at Pied Horse I never dreamed I'd come third in a dressage competition after just 6 months of lessons." Becky, Client, 1.03.2008
"My eight year old daughter had her first lesson in July 2007 and got her first jumping rosette (3rd) on 29 August 2007. She got her first dressage rosette (2nd) on 18 September 2007. Both were in open competition, I am so proud of her and I would recommend Pied Horse to anyone." Sam, Member, 1.03.2008
"I have learned more in the past 12 months of lessons with Cathy than in over 20 years riding with other instructors plus I've been out competing in dressage which I had never done before getting placed Third in my first ever competition. Cathy is without doubt a fantastic instructor and pushes you to better yourself without shouting at you and gives you the confidence to believe in yourself and her horses are top notch and get the best welfare of any I've experienced at other establishments. If you want top class instruction plus have the opportunity to compete get yourself down here as you won't regret it!" Ange, Client, 1.03.2008
